Puck drops tonight for the final game of the 2025 Rivalry Series at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta.
Game 1 saw history repeat itself as the U.S. dominated 4-1 for the third year in a row. It was Heise and Murphy controlling the game with Heise opening the scoring for the U.S. and Murphy scoring a natural hat trick, Heise assisting on all 3.
Game 2 saw the U.S. continue their dominance, with a 6-1 win, to sweep the American leg. It was a full team effort led by Captain Hilary Knight, who scored a hat trick, with Kelly Panneck, Kendall Coyne-Schofield, Laila Edwards, and Hayley Scamurra each adding one of their own.
Game 3 saw the U.S. continue their dominance north of the border, to win their first Series since 2019-20, winning the game 10-4, a historic high. Contributions came from everyone, with goals scored by Tessa Janecke, Abbey Murphy (2), Jesse Compher, Kendall Coyne-Schofield, Britta Curl Salemme (game-winner), Kelly Panneck (2), Alex Carpenter, and Kirsten Simms.
Heading into Game 4, the U.S. looks to complete the first-ever Series sweep. While, Canada looks to recover from Game 3 and end the Series on a high note in their last matchup before the 2026 Olympics.
This is a homecoming game for Danielle Serdachny and Emerance Maschmeyer. Serdachny is a forward for the Seattle Torrent. She has represented Canada in three Women’s World Championships, bringing home one gold a two silvers, scoring the game-winning overtime goal in the 2024 gold medal game. Maschmeyer is a goaltender for the Vancouver Goldeneyes. She has represented Canada in seven Women’s World Championships, bringing home 3 golds, 3 silvers, and one bronze. She also represented Canada in the 2022 Olympic Games, bringing home the gold medal. Maschmeyer did not play in the American leg of the Rivalry Series, but is expected to start in Edmonton. She is coming off a shutout win for the Vancouver Goldeneyes.
With the Series already won, will the U.S. secure the first-ever Series sweep? Or will Canada end the Series on a high note? Tune in to the final game of the Rivalry Series at 9 PM EST to find out.
