Meet the Prospects: Elise Hugens

After an incredible university career with the UBC Thunderbirds, goaltender Elise Hugens has declared for the 2026 PWHL Entry Draft.


The Sherwood Park native finished with 125 career games played and a 0.940 save percentage. This season, Hugens was an absolute beast in net, with only one loss in 23 games and 9 shutouts, tying her career high.


She was recognized for her accomplishments this season being named a Second Team All-Star for USports (W) (West).


The Thunderbirds' best finish in Hugens' time was Bronze in the 2022-23 season.


Hugens represented Alberta back in 2019 as they hosted the National Women's Under-18 Championship. Unfortunately for the hosts, they weren't able to medal. However, Hugens put up an incredible showing in her two games with 58 saves, sporting a 0.935 save percentage.
