Kristýna Kaltounková has continued to grow her name within women’s hockey, from the U18’s to her first Olympic Games, she’s showing young girls everywhere what’s possible.
Kaltounková was introduced to the North American sports market in 2017, when she made her debut in the IIHF U18 Women’s World Championships for Czechia. In her four years competing in the tournament she finished with 19 points in 20 games, the third most by a Czech player.
She continued to grow her offensive prowess playing for the Colgate Raiders in New York, where she finished as the all-time leader in goals, the second-highest career point total in program history and just the second player to pass 200-points, recording 238 points in 168 games. She also helped lead the Raiders to four ECAC Championships in 5 seasons.
In her freshman year at Colgate Kaltounková made history as the first player from Czechia to be named a top ten finalist for the Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award. With her historic performance with the Raiders Kaltounková was named the Czech Female Hockey Player of the 2024-25 season by the Czech Ice Hockey Association.
Kaltounková began her PWHL career making history as the first player from Czechia to be drafted in the first round, going first overall to the New York Sirens. And it didn’t take her long to get settled into the PWHL and physical play, becoming an early front-runner for PWHL Rookie of the Year.
Kaltounková has been one of the top goal scorers all season, in the Sirens last game before the Olympic break she took the lead from Kendall Coyne-Schofield, scoring two goals including their tying goal to send the game to extra time, bringing her total to 11. She enters the break on a four-game point streak and looks to continue that momentum into her Olympic debut.
Kaltounková has continued to make history everywhere she goes, her next adventure begins February 5th, as she makes her Olympic debut against the USA.
