PWHL Frenzy Preview

Get ready PWHL fans, tonight’s the night! All 8 PWHL teams are in action for the first-ever PWHL Frenzy. With the standings continuing to shakeup and the Olympic break around the corner tonight’s the night you don’t want to miss.

Toronto Sceptres at Montreal Victoire

Starting off the night in Montreal, at 6:30 p.m. (EST) the Toronto Sceptres come to town looking to bounce back from back-to-back losses, while the Victoire hope to keep their momentum going as they look to extend their two game win streak.

For the Sceptres player to watch it’s Daryl Watts. She has been leading the Sceptres offence this season, with 6 goals and 5 assists. Earlier this season she became the second player to reach the 50 point career milestone. On the other end watch out for Marie Philip-Poulin, who is known for taking games, earning the title Captain Clutch, most recently scoring the overtime winner in Minnesota with a behind the back shot.

New York at Boston

Moving to Boston, at 7 p.m. (EST) the New York Sirens are visiting for the first time this season. In their first meeting in New York, the Fleet walked away with a 2-0 shutout. The Fleet have stood at the top of the standings all season, without being touched, for the first time their number one spot is in jeopardy. This season the Fleet are undefeated while in Boston, they will look to continue that trend tonight. While the Sirens coming off a trip back from Minnesota due to the snow storms, are looking to bounce back before heading into the Olympic break.

New York’s player to watch is Kristýna Kaltounková who has been putting up an incredible rookie campaign, leading the 2025 draft class. This season Kaltounková has recorded 9 goals, and 1 assist. She is gearing up for her Olympic debut at the Milano-Cortina Games this February where she will represent Czechia. On the other end, watch out for defender Megan Keller, who has shown her two way skills, leading the Fleet with 11 points.

Seattle at Ottawa

Also dropping the puck at 7 is Ottawa, as the Seattle Torrent come to town looking to crawl up from the bottom of the standings. In their meeting earlier this season the Torrent took a 4-1 win over the Charge, in Seattle, this is the first time the two will meet at TD Place. The Ottawa Charge made some big moves that seemed to have paid off bringing over Michela Cava, Emma Greco and Brooke McQuigge from the Vancouver Goldeneyes. They were able to adapt and start making an impact immediately.

The player to watch from the Charge is Rebecca Leslie, who has found her rhythm this season now with 8 goals and 6 assists, in the first 15 games, just 1 point behind her performance last season. On the other end watch out for Julia Gosling who has broken out this season with the Seattle Torrent after being drafted from Toronto in the Expansion Draft. After only scoring 4 goals in her rookie campaign, she began the 2025-26 season with two goals in the first period of their inaugural game in Vancouver, including the first-ever expansion team goal. She has since added another 4 as well as six assists, sitting 7th in the league.

Vancouver at Minnesota

To cap off the night we head to Minnesota, at 9 p.m. (EST) for their first home matchup against the Vancouver Goldeneyes. During the exclusive signing window for the expansion teams Frost defenders Claire Thompson and Sophie Jaques signed with Vancouver.

Then in the Expansion Draft the Goldeneyes took Brooke McQuigge (now with the Charge) and Denisa Křížová, who was later traded back to the Frost. Then signing free-agents Michela Cava (now with the Charge) and Melissa Channell-Watkins.

Both teams are coming off big wins with Vancouver jumping from last to fifth in the standings, and the Frost moving up to second. This season the Goldeneyes only road wins have come on the Takeover Tour, they will look to change this tonight, while the Frost look to keep the momentum rolling from their 6-2 win over the New York Sirens.

For the Frost the player to watch is Kelly Pannek, who is just 2 points shy of her PWHL career-best 16 point season. Even with her incredible performances, she still flies under the radar, whether it be in the faceoff-dot or in front of the net keep your eyes open for Pannek as she looks to extend her 4 game point streak. On the other end look for defender Claire Thompson who has been leading the offensive efforts for the Goldeneyes. Thompson is known for her high IQ on and off the ice, so watch out whether she’s setting up plays or running them herself, she has the ability to open up a game.

No matter who you're cheering or tuning in for, it's an exciting night around the PWHL, you definitely don’t want to miss.
