Canada continued to show how strong they are in their 14-0 win over Hungary last night after beating Switzerland 9-0 on opening day.

The biggest thing we’ve seen from Team Canada is contributions coming from all over the ice. In their first game, 15 different players were on the scoresheet, and their win over Hungary had 17 different players.

Leading the charge for Canada is Assistant Captain Alida Korte, who now has 6 points through the first two games. In Game 1, Korte was named the player of the game with two goals and an assist. The Saskatoon forward has committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Just one point behind her are Hayley McDonald, Adrianna Milani, and Sophia Ismael. Both McDonald and Milani recorded hat-tricks in the game against Hungary. McDonald is the CSSHL with RHA Kelowna. The East St. Paul, Manitoba native has committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes. Milani and Ismael are currently playing in the OWHA U22 Elite division with Etobicoke. Milani, the Oakville forward, has committed to the Minnesota Golden Gophers and Ismael, the St. George forward, has committed to Penn State.

Canada has continued to put pressure on the opposing defence and goalies, firing off 51 shots in their game against Switzerland and 74 in their game against Hungary, while holding both teams to only 11 shots.

Canada is back in action today against Sweden, who are also undefeated. But only one team can finish the preliminary round undefeated. Be sure to tune in tonight for the highly anticipated matchup.
